Taggart Construction’s first project was the renovation of an 1888 Queen Anne 3-family residence into the Brewster House Bed & Breakfast. Work started in January 1994 and the B&B opened for the 4th of July weekend 1994 (on time as planned)!
- Gutted most of the first and second floor of plaster, removing all old wiring and plumbing
- Framed new B&B rooms, all with private bathrooms
- New wiring, plumbing, sprinkler system and fire alarm hard-wired to the Freeport Dispatch Center
- New insulation and sheetrock, followed by replacement of original trim and doors that had been removed, labeled and stored
- Repaired original tin ceiling in new dining room
- Installed new kitchen
- Replaced wooden gutters & built new side porch as primary entrance for B&B
- Coordinated work environment & schedules to allow for as many as 7 companies with multiple employees to work in a cooperative environment which resulted in the project finishing on time and the B&B owners opening for the busy 4th of July weekend
