What does it mean to be "green?" At Taggart Construction it means building with integrity; creating buildings that are:
- •
beautiful
- •
energy efficient
- •
occupant healthy
- •
environment friendly
|
You can have it all. You can have a custom-designed, comfortable, affordable home that will respect and preserve the environment. Taggart Construction built the first LEED© (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certified Home in the USA. This home was recognized for its many sustainable features including active and passive solar, super-insulated building envelope and carefully selected, environment friendly construction materials. During the course of construction, we reduced the volume of landfill bound construction waste by 75%.
Taggart Construction projects include custom homes, renovations, historic restorations, additions, custom kitchens, commercial buildings and design/build services.
A recently completed LEED Gold Certified residence marks our continued progress on a journey that began in 1994 with Peter Taggart’s vision to "ride and sharpen the cutting edge of sustainable design and construction technology."
News:
The Ideas Competition 09 Award for Excellence was presented to architect Kevin Moquin, AIA, LEED AP, and landscape architect Tony Cowles, MLA. Kevin is the resident architect for Taggart Construction. Entries for the Portland’s East End Beach improvement project were judged by the Maine Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and presented on December 2 in Portland, Maine. Terraces leading from the beach and a glass community center create an inviting pedestrian setting at one of Portland’s most popular public spaces.
